We regret to announce the passing of Ayton Taylor, an outstanding member of the Class of 1962 of Mico College, whose life was marked by service, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to education and community.
Ayton Taylor was one of four visionary classmates - along with Trevor Thomas, Leo Chambers, and the late Owen James - who co-founded Mico University College Foundation of America (MUCFA). Together, they transformed a shared love for their alma mater into an enduring institution dedicated to opportunity and advancement for future generations.
A distinguished Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Ayton was the Senior Partner and Managing Director of A. L. Taylor & Associates, which he established in Chicago to provide tax advisory and preparation, accounting, and financial planning services. His professional integrity and generosity were hallmarks of his career.
In partnership with Leo Chambers, President Emeritus of MUCFA, Ayton helped shape the vision that created MUCFA as a legal entity. Drawing on his expertise, he oversaw MUCFA’s incorporation in the State of Illinois in 2016 and later laid the groundwork for its successful recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the IRS in 2018.
Since MUCFA's inception, A. L. Taylor & Associates has faithfully provided pro bono services as Registered Agents, to ensure MUCFA’s continued legal and statutory compliance in the State of Illinois - an enduring gift that reflects Ayton’s belief in service above self.
Ayton Taylor’s legacy lives on in the entity he helped build and in the countless lives that will benefit from his foresight, generosity, and quiet dedication. We are deeply grateful for his leadership, his friendship, and his lasting contribution to MUCFA and Mico University College community.
MUCFA extends its sincere condolences to his wife, children, siblings, extended family, and friends. While we mourn his passing, we do so with gratitude for a life well lived and with the assurance that he now rests peacefully in the loving arms of God.
